Recently I passed the SC-300 Exam!#
I took the exam after completing the Microsoft Learn path for the exam, and leveraging the knowledge I have gained from my day to day job responsibilities. It was a great learning experience, and I wanted to share some insights with you all.
I found the exam to be a great way to test my knowledge of the material and to get a better understanding of the different areas of identity and access management. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to get into the field or who is looking to deepen their knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.
What is SC-300?#
The SC-300 exam is a certification exam offered by Microsoft that tests a candidate’s knowledge of identity and access management. It is a great exam for those who are looking to get into the field of identity and access management or for those who are looking to deepen their knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.
The exam covers a variety of topics related to Microsoft Entra ID and identity and access management, including:
- Azure AD Connect
- Azure AD Hybrid Identity
- Azure AD Application Proxy
- Azure AD Conditional Access
- Azure AD Privileged Identity Management
- Azure AD Identity Protection
The exam is a great way to test your knowledge of the material and to get a better understanding of the different areas of identity and access management. It is also a great way to prepare for the SC-300 exam.
My Exam Experience#
I agonized over taking this test for several months. Part of that hesitation was due to the cost of the exam, but a large part of that hesitation was due to my own self doubt and my fear of failure.
Luckily I was gifted a voucher for a free Microsoft exam through the AI Skills Build challenge, which eliminated the cost barrier. I still had to overcome my own self doubt. I scheduled the exam and used the impending date as motivation to push through my self doubt and study hard.
The exam itself was challenging but fair. I felt that the questions were relevant to the material covered in the Microsoft Learn path and that the exam was a good representation of the knowledge required to pass. Thanfully, Microsoft also has a great testing module on their website that mirrors the format of the exam and allows you to practice with questions that are similar to those on the actual exam.
I am looking forward to leveraging this certification to continue growing in the field of identity and access management!
